Changing platforms and a new blog coming
I’m so bad with tinkering. I should really know better but I just can’t help myself. If I was a mechanic I’d be the sort of one that is constantly taking his car engine apart only to put it straight back together again. I’m forever messing about with my sites, blogs, social profiles it sometimes goes beyong a joke.
Tonight I’m set myself up a Tumblr and moved all of...

Such a great keynote. The guys is so passionate is frickin unreal. I watched another of his keynotes the other day and was BLOWN away! Awesome!
GMail's down...and?
You might have noticed that GMail went down again and yet again the world is falling apart as a result. At the time of writing this, my GMail is back up and running but I’m not sure if that exclusively me.
What has got me about the whole thing is the apparent outcry from the tech world, as reported in the news. So what if GMail is down? Ok granted a lot of the online community uses GMail,...
Time to get my fitness back
Today has been a bit of turning point for me as I’ve finally got fed up with having rubbish fitness. I’m always tired, I have a bad back and I generally can’t be bothered to do anything but sit and work. It’s not always been this way. In my late teens and early twenties I used to be very fit. I could easily spend an hour working hard in the gym and exercise at will but now...
Love it!
Nokia e71 DIY Dock
Loved iPhone and iTouch docks, especially DIY ones, so after an annoying morning I dediced to hack one for myself for my phone
Rochdale Town Hall
Just been to a naming ceremony at the impressive looking Rochdale Town Hall.
3D? Just a novelty surely?
Just been watching Click (the BBC’s Computer and Tech show) and they were looking at some of the new 3D technology due to come out into the marketplace soon. I couldn’t but think what’s the point. What’s the point in 3D technology for the home? It’s just a novelty isnt it. Yes ok its really clever technology and I’m sure seeing a film in 3D would look cool but...
Have You Abandoned a Dedicated MP3 Player for a...
With cellphones like the iPhone sporting a good amount of storage space and very capable music players, a lot of people have abandoned the dedicated MP3 player for what their cellphones have to offer. Are you one of them?
I’ve completely abandoned my iPod since getting my first iPhone, but is it such a wise decision to abandon standalone music players for the sake...

BBC NEWS | Technology | Jobs returns to Apple...
Glad from a Tech point of view that Jobs is back. But think its sad that he still looks so unwell.

He’s back!
Great quote from Mashable “the man that can single-handedly make geeks the world round stop what they’re doing, has taken the stage”
Couldn’t agree more!
GMail or Something Else
I was listening to TWIT this morning in the car on the way in to the office and they were discussing about the Gmail outage last week and they mentioned that Gmail only holds a 3rd of the online email market. That’s unreal isn’t?! Gmail, the percieved giant of online email, comes in behind Hotmail and Yahoo mail. Leo and co discussed how this was due to Gmail only really being used by...
My Weekend Setup
Loving my tempory setup up this weekend - shame it goes back tomorrow
What FireFox Extension I Use
I love Firefox; I think it’s ace! In particular, I love the extension that you can add to Firefox to make a better browser experience
Here is the list of extension I use and why I use them….
Delicious
I’ve been storing my bookmarks online, with Delicious for a while now and can not recommend it enough. If you use bookmarks and like to store your content in the cloud then...
Its great when someone you look up to, tells you...
All day I’ve been genuinely worried about tonight. Tonight was something that a part of me was really not looking forward. It wasn’t dread I felt about tonight but more nervous anticipation and I knew if it went badly I’d be going home feeling really down. Let me set the scene.
Around 6 months ago I was given a new task/role at work to design and build the new corporate website,...
Playing with my new phone
Today has been really cool day. Why? Because I had an unexpected surprise and they’re the best ones in my mind. Work have been looking into getting me a work phone which I was expecting completion on in a few weeks. So imagine my surprise when getting into the office today when I was told that it had been ordered yesterday and that it might possibly arrive during the day. And by lunchtime I...
No Hulu For UK Users Until 2010
Those of you stateside have really come to appreciate HuluHulu
for watching shows from NBC, FOX, and ABC online. Many of you outside of the US, however, have been anxiously awaiting the date when you too could reap the benefits of the free online video site.
Unfortunately, we have bad news for you. According to The Daily Telegraph, the Hulu UK roll-out was originally slated for September of...
Grand Prix or not to Grand Prix
I think my addictive nature is spreading. I’m loving the Formula 1 season this year. I’m well and truly sucked into the circus this year like never before.
I’m remember one year, having a sleep over with a mate so that we could get up in the middle of the night to watch the Australian Grand Prix, live on TV. It was right up there with watching the FA Cup Final or the SuperBowl; something that...
My new favourite TV show - even if I am a bit late...
You know what it’s like; you see an advert on TV for a new show and you think to yourself “Wow that looks cool, need to set a reminder up for that.” Just as your about to hit ‘save’ on the TV planner 3rd World War breaks out in the kitchen or the boss tells you to get back to work (and by boss I mean your boss not your significant other, unless they make you call them boss and that’s completely up...
Start of something new?
My name’s Ben and I’m a net-o-holic. I’ve been a net-o-holic for a long as I remember and am strangely comforted by the thought. I’ve written blogs before, one The New Horizons Project was a Self Development and Self Improvement blog while the other (strangely entitled Ben Lumley) was a geeky blog where I posted all sorts of stuff that I liked and wanted to share.
The problem with both them was...
